Project Overview
Scope of Work
345 CARES was engaged to remove and replace an existing deteriorated exterior staircase while addressing underlying site conditions and preparing the area for long-term durability and use.
The project required coordinated demolition, excavation, structural concrete work, and final site restoration within a constrained campus setting.
Demo, Pour, Restore — Full Scope
- 01Demolition and removal of existing concrete staircase
- 02Excavation and site preparation, including removal of obstructions and underground elements
- 03Backfill and compaction in controlled lifts to stabilize subgrade
- 04Forming and pouring new concrete staircase
- 05Installation or replacement of commercial metal handrail system (as required)

Execution & Site Conditions
Sloped Terrain. Active Campus. Every Phase Sequenced.
Concrete work on a university campus doesn't get to stop the campus. Every pour, every delivery, every grade was coordinated around the people who still had to move through the site every day.
Sloped terrain requiring controlled forming and access management
Active campus environment with pedestrian considerations throughout
Coordination of concrete delivery and pump access in tight conditions
Sequenced work including demo, excavation, structural pour, and finish work
Weather-dependent scheduling for grading and concrete placement
Integration with existing site features and infrastructure
